A Day in the Life: Juggling Studies and Student Activities at Bayan
From early-morning lectures to late-evening study sessions, Bayan students share what a typical day on campus really looks like.
Ask any Bayan College student what their day looks like and the answer rarely fits a simple schedule. Between lectures, group projects, student club meetings, and part-time responsibilities, campus life moves quickly.
We followed three students across a full weekday to understand how they manage time, stay motivated, and still find moments to connect with their peers.
Morning: The Commute and the Coffee
For Sara Al-Kindi, a second-year English Studies student, the day begins before 7 AM. The commute is long, but she uses the journey to review vocabulary lists and listen to English-language podcasts. By 8:30 she is in the library, finding a quiet corner before her first lecture.
I protect my mornings. If I can get one hour of reading done before class starts, the whole day feels more manageable.

Afternoon: Between Classes and Clubs
The hours between afternoon lectures are often the most productive. Students gather in common areas to revise together, compare notes, or practise presentations. The student council room is rarely empty.
Ahmed Al-Farsi coordinates the Media Club, which meets twice a week to plan social media content and short documentary projects. He describes the club as a place to try things that class assignments alone do not always allow.
Evening: Winding Down
- Most students study for two to three hours in the evening.
- Group chats replace physical meetings after campus closes.
- Many students complete reading assignments before preparing for the following morning.
What is consistent across all three is a genuine sense of purpose. The workload is real, but so is the support around it.
